CHIT-CHAT CLUB

More than 15 years ago at Tama Art Uni-versity, Prof. Roger Barnard, who was a full-time English teacher, started this club. A few times a week, Roger Barnard and myself had lunch together with students who were interested in speaking English. Other English-speaking teachers joined us. Students came and went, but the activity is still going on. Quite a few students got a lot out of the encounters among different cultures. This show is to exhibit artworks by the present members. Thank you, Ms. Koyu Okazaki, Mr. Barnard, Mr. Hathaway, Ms. Mooney!

Fumiko Daido

15年ほど前ですが、多摩美術大学共通教育学科で英語の教鞭をとっていらっしゃったバーナード先生が「昼休みに食事を取りながら学生と一緒に英語でおしゃべりする」という場を考案なさいました。英語の教師で美術に興味のある方々も加わり、参加して英語でいろいろな文化に触れる経験をした学生を多数輩出した集いです。
Chit-Chatとは「とりとめもないおしゃべり」という意味です。
今回の展示はそこに集まる現在の学生の有志7人とアンカー役になっている教師4人の作品です。
